Analytic Focus hired Dr. Xiaobin Yang in August 2011 as a Senior Research Associate. Dr. Yang has two PhD's; one in Applied Mathematichs in 1999 from Jiaotang University in China, and one in Applied Statistics in 2011 from University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Dr. Yang has strong analytical skills and is experienced in applied statistic research, statistical modeling and simulation study. He worked on a joint project with Dr. Keying (Department of Management Science and Statistics, UTSA) which used Bayesian modeling for Phase I clinical trials. This study introduced a two-parameter probit model with latent variables to fit dichotomous or polychotomous toxicity response data. Dr. Yang is extremely proficient in statistical programming using R, SAS, and Matlab. These skills were used in a joint project with Dr. Millwater (Department of Mechanical Engineering, UTSA) on a project sponsored by the Air Force Research Lab at Wright Patterson AFB. The project was a piecewise nonlinear regression model with 12 independent parameters. A probabilistic sensitivity analysis was also performed using SAS. Analaytic Focus is very pleased to have Dr. Yang as a member of the team.
