Senior Consulting Associate - San Antonio, TX

This is a leadership position within our San Antonio office for an individual with the quantitative and marketing skills to succeed in a highly competitive environment.  In addition to a supportive work environment, we offer you a salary commensurate with your experience.

Summary of Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research / develop models related to financial and economic issues
  • Experienced in statistical modeling, simulation, and complex analysis
  • Extensive experience in evaluating large, multi-faceted datasets.  Experience with large mortgage and financial databases a real plus
  • Conduct liability and economic loss analysis
  • Experience with graduate level sampling theory a plus
  • Experience with litigation and testifying is a plus

Position Requirements:

The successful candidate will demonstrate a reputation as an expert in their field as well as demonstrate success developing and building client relationships.  The position requires an advanced degree in statistics, economics, finance, or operations research, and a Ph.D. is required.  Previous experience as an expert witness is highly desirable.  A minimum of five years of analytical experience and knowledge of analytical software is required, and more experience is preferred.

The position requires excellent people skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and clients.  Both written and verbal communication skills should be exemplary.  Knowledge of at least one of the following statistical packages is required:  SAS, SPSS, or Systat.

The successful candidate must possess the ability to self-motivate and adapt to a highly flexible and unstructured working environment, plus leadership qualities to lead a team of consultants on complex projects.  He/she must exhibit a strong work ethic, the ability to work effectively with clients, the ability to manage a project within budget and within strict deadlines, and the ability to work under pressure.

Controller - San Antonio, TX

We are a small, growing company looking to add to our team of professionals.  We are seeking a controller with full cycle and G/L experience, public accounting experience desirable.  We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package, a congenial, relaxed working environment and a family friendly atmosphere.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with a team of professionals as relates to:  Accounting processes, preparation and posting of journal entries, review of financial statements and reconciliation of general ledger accounts
  • Directly manage the workload and development of accounting personnel
  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of Accounting policies, financial systems, transaction processes, and internal controls
  • Responsible for timely completion of the month end and year end close process
  • Make certain that GAAP and internal accounting controls are being properly applied
  • Prepare and/or review account analyses and monthly analytical reviews of balance sheets and income statements
  • Prepare monthly budget variance analysis
  • Prepare monthly forecast update, primarily by working closely with the Operations Member and Managing Member of Analytic Focus LLC
  • Assist with cost accounting and project management functions
  • Review bank reconciliations, client billings, expense reports, etc
  • Prepare the City Business Licenses, personal property tax filings, and other government forms

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting is required.  Master's Degree in Accounting is desirable
  • 5 plus years of relevant experience within a small to mid-size firm required
  • Public accounting experience is a plus
  • Must have technical accounting knowledge
  • Must be dependable with a strong work ethic
  • Must have strong technical ability in financial information systems; experience with QuickBooks is a definite plus
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work well within a team with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills through team development
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to comply with deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time working on detailed work assignments

Network Analyst I - Birmingham, AL

Analytic Focus LLC is a growing company looking to add to our team of professionals.  We are seeking a Network Analyst I to work in our Birmingham, AL office.  The successful candidate will work without Senior IT members to provide support in all aspects fo the IT infrastructure that includes computing environments, telecommunications, and hardware, software, and voice and data networks.  This position reports directly to the Director of Information Technology for Analytic Focus, LLS who works primarily in our San Antonio, TX office.  We offer a highly competitive salary and benefits package, a congenial, relaxed working environment and a family friendly atmosphere.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with other Technology personnel via remote at other sites
  • Provide technical support for 20+ end-users onsite and additional users via remote in other offices
  • Provide technical support for workstations (PC and Apple), servers, and printers
  • Provision AD user/network accounts for new users
  • Provision application accounts for new users
  • Repair and upgrade desktop, laptop, and server hardware
  • Provision phones
  • Maintain and support backups/replication
  • Maintain and support virtual desktops/server initiatives
  • Maintain and support AD
  • Maintain and support security initiatives and software
  • Maintain and support network, Wi-Fi, DNS, and Domains
  • Monitor all aspects of the infrastructure environment
  • Asset tracking
  • Create technical training documents for team mates and end-users
  • Troubleshoot LAN/WLAN issues
  • Troubleshoot problems one-on-one and via a remote desktop client
  • Oversee vendors when they are called on-site to correct escalated tehcnology issues
  • Support some database functions in support of the business
  • Information Security

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree (preferred) or Undergraduate studies in Computer Science/Information Technology-related field
  • Must be able to pass security clearance required under current contract with Federal Government
  • Prior work experience in the Information Technology arena
  • Have an understanding of PC hardware and the ability to replace and/or upgrade components when necessary
  • An understanding of Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of MS Access and/or Excel to merge data files (mainly CSV and Tab Delimited files) to prepare for processing/analysis by the business
  • An understanding of backup software
  • Problem solving and trouble-shooting skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and with in strict deadlines
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Highly organized with extreme attention to detail and accuracy
  • High stress tolerance with an ability to multi-task
  • Highly flexible and able to adjust to a small business environment
  • Ability to sit for very extended periods of time performing detailed work
  • Ability to focus on a computer screen for extended periods of time
