Summary of Position Responsibilities:z Meet with clients, develop client relationships, and market services of firm
z Develop budgets and marketing plan for Birmingham Office
z Conduct research and model development for issues related to intellectual property, product liability, valuation, or economic impact
z Provide expert analysis and testimony in legal proceedings within your area of expertise
z Conduct liability and economic damage analysis
z Oversee the conduct of large scale surveys and complex research projects
z Responsible for data collection and database management
z Manage research associates and support staff in Birmingham Office
z Maintain expertise in your field of research
Position Requirements:
The successful candidate will demonstrate a reputation as an expert in their field as well as demonstrate success developing and building client relationships. The position requires an advanced degree in statistics, economics, finance, or operations research, and a Ph.D. is preferred. Will consider a Ph.D. in Sociology with a concentration in applied research. Previous experience as an expert witness is highly desirable. Previous experience with large scale surveys is a major plus. A minimum of 10 years of analytical experience and knowledge of analytical software is required.
The position requires excellent people skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and clients. Both written and verbal communication skills should be exemplary. The successful candidate must have strong PC skills and be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of at least one of the following statistical packages is required: SAS, SPSS, or Systat.
The successful candidate must possess the ability to self-motivate and adapt to a highly flexible and unstructured working environment. He/she must possess leadership qualities that will enable him/her to lead a team of consultants on complex projects. He/she must exhibit a strong work ethic, the ability to work effectively with clients, the ability to manage a project within budget and within strict deadlines, and the ability to work under pressure. The candidate must also possess the ability to maintain attention to detail while multi-tasking as the position requires simultaneously working on multiple projects.
